Woodstock UMC is a community of flawed women and men, boys and girls, striving to be a faithful representative of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are the church—scattered through this region of the Shenandoah Valley, living and working here. We are composed of long-time residents of the Valley and numerous come-heres. Many retired persons who once lived in Northern Virginia have relocated here. We have several families for whom Woodstock/Shenandoah County has been home for many generations.

We are one of 1200 United Methodist Churches in the Virginia Conference, and one of 82 congregations in the Harrisonburg District. Our bishop is the Rev. Dr. Young Jin Cho (Richmond area) and our District Superintendent is Rev. Ernest "Tommy" Herndon (Harrisonburg).

We participate in the Woodstock Ministerial Association composed of several churches in this community and area.  As a group of clergy we work together and meet monthly—always at the Café, of course—and we host a weekly Lenten worship service, a Thanksgiving service, and a weekly Advent service. We also support a common fund for meeting the needs of persons and households in this community.
